ABOUT DISTRICT COURT
Davanagere was newly established as district on 15th August 1997 by excluding Chitradurga District and now Davanagere is one of THIRTY districts of Karnataka state.Davanagere lies in the semi arid region. The district is bounded by Shivamogga (Malenadu) Area of Hills, Haveri, Chitradurga, Chikmagalur and Bellary districts. The southern and western parts of the district are irrigated by the waters of the Bhadra reservoir. It has the Asia's 2nd largest irrigation tank called Sulekere (Shanthi Sagara) which is a major water source for farmers in the district.
On 17.06.2000 Prl. District Court was established in Davanagere District with 15 Courts out of that;
- Davanagere District Head quarters – 08 Courts
- Harihara Taluk Head Quarters – 02 Courts
- Channagiri taluk Head Quartes – 02 Court
- Harapanahalli Taluk Head Quarters – 01 Courts
- Honnali Taluk Head Quarters – 01 Courts
- Jagalur Taluk Head Quarters – 01 Court
In the year 2017 Nyamathi was declared as one of the taluk in Davanagere District.
In the year 2019 Harapanahalli Taluk was excluded from Davanagere District to Bellary District. Now there are 25 Courts have been functioning, out of that;
